3 WAYS TO STOP PROCRASTINATION.

 

I went to design school w/ my 2 bffs & we would always procrastinate doing our work.
We created a phrase that we used for the last stretch of time before our work was due in class.

It was called “THE DANGER ZONE” (cue Kenny Loggins). We were in it often & it was no joke.

When the danger zone was declared, everything else that wasn’t the work was put on hold. Food, sleep, personal hygiene… etc. Mass quantities of adrenaline were then dumped into our systems & intense laser beam like focus set in.

It was no longer about inspiration & creation, those feel good, this was about something much more pure – getting it DONE.

These habits followed me into my career as a designer & I believed it was just how I was, how I worked.

I believed that I NEEDED those insane bursts of adrenaline in order to complete things. That I’d never be one of those people who set out to get things done ahead of time.
I thought I was “taking back my freedom”. That I was allowing myself to “play” first & work later...
